OCI Compute Instance Flexible Shapes with Terraform
Cloud Infrastructure should be flexible by default. It is a fundamental incentive for each IT shop in regards to any move of the workload from an on-premise location into the public cloud. Flexibility and elasticity mean you have more and pay less. That is also OCI’s fundamental characteristics. In this video below I am showcasing a brand new feature called Flexible Shapes for compute instances. It means you can deploy VM with a minimum number of needed OCPUs and memory. Then gradually you can add more CPU power or/and memory without machine redeployment. It is similar to dynamic shape change, but in fact, we have still the same shape used. Moreover, you can reduce the number of CPU power and same time enlarge memory or the opposite. That is a new level of flexibility. Now it is time for video. Hope you will find it tasty as before.
